DESCRIPTION
Contemporary jewelry can become a space for experimentation with material, where recovered materials and transformation processes open up new possibilities for aesthetic and symbolic value.

This conference explores how materials considered waste can be observed, investigated, and transformed to acquire new forms, identities, and meanings.

The session brings together the work of Anna Olivella Casas, Agostina Laurenzano and Loana Flores, who address the transformation of matter from different perspectives.

Anna Olivella Casas, trained in artistic jewelry at the Massana School, works primarily with glass and explores how fire, time and experimentation can transform its properties.

Her practice focuses on disassembling, recovering, and transforming existing materials to give them new identities within the field of custom jewelry. She is one of the jewelers selected for the Enjoia’t 2026 Awards.

Agostina Laurenzano, designer and researcher trained in fashion and textile design at the University of Buenos Aires and with a postgraduate degree in applied arts at the Massana School, investigates pigments, natural polymers and bioplastics of plant origin. Her work explores the transformation of vegetable waste into new materials and objects.

The conference will be moderated by Loana Flores, fashion and textile designer, multidisciplinary artist and materials researcher. Tickets must be booked in advance; they can be obtained free of charge through the website.
